Prima Service has successfully achieved re-certification from double glazing regulator FENSA.
In the eyes of the law, landlords replacing their windows are responsible for ensuring the installation complies with the latest Government Building Regulations on thermal performance. FENSA was set up by industry to enable companies that replace windows to self-certify compliance. Landlords using a certified contractor don’t need to worry about getting a separate assessment from their Local Authority Building Control.
Backing the FENSA scheme is Prima MD, Joseph Giardina: “We welcome the news that our FENSA re-certification has been successful. Our clients can have absolute confidence their installation will be certified as compliant, without the added cost and time of arranging assessment by Building Control.”
He added: “As a sector we are working hard to reduce energy loss in-line with Government policy, so it is positive to acknowledge this through the scheme.”
FENSA registered firms are vetted with a pre-approval inspection, followed by regular assessment by an independent inspection body.
